Conduct
Rules
Silt Strider is an open RP server built for players to live out their lives in Morrowind, and it operates primarily on an honour system both in and out of roleplay. Have a read before you hop in.
This is an 18+ server. No exceptions. Failing to adhere to
any of the rules below can and will result in temporary, or in some cases
permanent, suspension from the server.
Community rules
- Silt Strider is a community-driven server. Respect everyone here, and they'll respect you. We own and run this together.
- No spam or self-promotion (server invites, advertisements and so on) without permission. This includes DMing fellow members.
- No political discussions relating to real life. People have differing opinions and we're all just here for a good time. If you start popping off, we'll mute you without warning.
- This is an 18+ server. No exceptions.
Roleplay rules
We're all here to have a good time, so it's good to have a read on what flies and what doesn't.
- Metagaming of any sort is not allowed in Silt Strider.
- Conflict must only be initiated following RP. Morrowind is a tough land but it's also a believable one.
- Muling between characters is strictly not allowed, whether it be gold or items.
- RDM'ing (random death matching) players, killing NPCs, or intentionally obstructing RP or guild progression will be punished.
- ERP is forbidden. Characters, while allowed to have relationships, will not be engaging in erotic roleplay acts of any sort on Silt Strider. Suggestive content and flirting is fine.
-
Stay in-character when playing. If you need to speak OOC, use
/oocfor global and/loocfor local. - Power gaming is not allowed. RP must be conducted within the understanding you're part of the world, starting as a nobody, not the prophesied hero. You are not the Nerevarine.
- Connected to the previous rule, players must portray their characters as having a realistic value to their own lives, particularly when connected to conflict RP.
- Playing a child is not allowed on Silt Strider. The youngest age you're allowed to represent is 18.
- Dwemer, ebony ore and Daedric items are illegal to carry and wield under Imperial law in Morrowind. Be mindful of this when RPing in cities, and treat it as if guards are able to react appropriately. If these items are to be sold between players, it should be done secretly, under black markets. Certain artefacts will crumble in your hands if you attempt to use or pick them up without being a champion.
- Do not abuse or exploit mechanics. Morrowind is an old game and players are expected to respect the RP setting. This isn't your place for a 1 to 100 Seyda Neen guide.
- No bunny hopping. Please. It ruins the immersion for other players.
- Do not randomly steal items placed in locations that are decorated by players. Respect people's hard work when they set scenes.
- No griefing. Randomly placing objects and furniture without a proper roleplay reason is griefing. You may create camps, points of interest and roleplay scenes wherever you wish, as long as it does not block players from objectives or from moving through towns. Be aware that staff can see the owner of every placed furniture item, as well as your connected accounts.
- Objects dropped on the floor do not despawn. Please place items you cannot carry, or do not want, into non-player-owned containers or corpses to despawn them. Be a good citizen and delete them. Those containers are usually found in dungeons or near vendors.
- Do not farm cells for gold. To clarify: in vanilla Morrowind, cells do not reset, so excusing it as part of the game is not valid. Players caught exploiting cells, or the NPCs within them, for their items over and over just to make gold rather than RP will receive a warning.
- You may not recall other players without their consent. If you have defeated another player in a duel and they have lost, you may use recall on them as a way to capture the player. Abuse of the recall system will lead to a warning.
Reports and enforcement
- If you suspect someone of breaking the rules, please produce a player report ticket.
- We operate a three warnings and you're out system.
- Every action taken in the game is tracked on the server.
